"Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing." His most famous saying.

And when it comes to battlegrounds, it's true.

Because the point of the battleground is to win. Period. End of discussion.
How much damage you do doesn't matter. Your number of honor kills and killing blows doesn't matter. Boasting about them is like boasting about masturbation: no one cares but you.

"I'm just here to have fun!" If I had a dollar for everytime I heard that, I'd be rolling in dough. It's interesting to see how many people change their tune when it becomes obvious that yes, Virgina, we are going to lose. Suddenly losing matters. Call them on it -- and I have, on both Horde and Alliance -- and their lack of response is deafening.

Because some people seem to have forgotten: winning is fun. Everyone likes to win. No one likes to lose. You say you don't mind losing? You're a liar.

And, to quote Vince again, "If it doesn't matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score?"

"I'm just here for honor." Then play like you actually want it. Oh, sure, you get honor if you lose, but not nearly enough as you do when you win. (In fact, Alliance on several servers in 2007 staged a strike when losing Alterac Valley suddenly didn't net you a single point of honor, thanks to then-recent changes in the BG.) Winning is more efficient when it comes to gaining honor.

Winning: just all-around superior to losing.
